Friends! I am working on a long-term project called Simply Me. As part of this project, I want to host a local art show featuring personality-driven portraits of local children. ☺️ I'm looking for kiddos to photograph, preferably between the ages of 2 and 9. These will be classic black-and-white portraits similar to the ones shown here.
These Simply Me black-and-white studio portraits are a perfect way to celebrate who your kids are RIGHT NOW, including their silly expressions, their sweet giggles, and their larger-than-life personalities. 😝
I'm a parent too, with a 20-year-old daughter and a 19-year-old son, and this fall they will both be leaving our nest to either continue or, in our son's case, start their college careers. I know it's a cliché that many parents have said or heard before, but "it" really does fly by all too quickly. One day you're on the playground together or juggling play dates, and before you know it, you're buying bedding, decorations, and desk lamps for a college dorm room.
When our kids were young, I photographed them a lot, but mostly as a hobby because I wasn't a professional photographer at the time. I wish I had gorgeous black-and-white personality portraits of them like those featured here hanging in their bedrooms when they were young, completely uninhibited in front of my camera, and more than willing to be silly, sassy, goofy, and so authentically themselves. As teenagers, the dynamic is completely different. While photographing them for their high school senior portraits recently was a wonderful and special milestone, honestly, it wasn't this. It wasn't Simply Me. Because those years for our kids are simply gone.

Step 1 - Let me know that you want to participate by clicking the link below and completing a short form. Then I'll call you to share all the details, answer any questions you have, and, if it sounds like a good fit for you and your family, schedule your child's session.
Step 2 - I will photograph your child in a private studio session where I'll make them feel very special! Such as, 'You're the only person in the room who matters at this moment, and I want to CELEBRATE you!' A $125 session fee will be charged at booking. Also, each child will receive a gift: a beautiful metal luggage or backpack tag featuring a photo from their session, as a thank-you from me for participating in this special project.
Step 3 - You'll view your child's portraits during a special reveal session at your home.
Step 4 - While I will select the portrait for inclusion in the art show, all families will have the opportunity to purchase custom wall art featuring their children.
